Fall is slowly but surely rolling into the southern part of the US–FINALLY! And that means it’s time for a fall wardrobe capsule.
I’m going to show you how to create outfits that will pair perfectly with pumpkin-spiced anything and won’t cost you a thing. You just need a bit of creativity and maybe a slightly organized closet wouldn’t hurt.
This outfit post is all about my Fall Capsule Wardrobe for petite plus-size babes.
Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge
It’s Fall Y’all!
At least for us down south it is, in other areas, you may refer to it as Autumn and it probably started rolling in a month and a half ago. You guys are truly the lucky ones!
For us Texans, it is a gift from the heavens if we can have more than three consecutive days of temperatures below 80 degrees for the high. Yes, that is our fall. Early mornings are around 55 and mid-afternoon around 73, it’s bliss and I LIVE for it.
So, this week is all about Fall friendly essentials that you need to pull from your closet to create some cozy looks with a touch of southern glam. Here’s How it Works:
7×7 Fall Capsule Wardrobe Challenge
- Choose 7 pieces from your closet, don’t worry if you don’t have any ideas! That’s what I’m here for and will be sharing my selections down below ๐
- Create 7 outfits using only the 7 pieces you selected from your closet (plus a few additional accessories).
- For the next 7 days, wear these outfits and feel confident & good about your sustainable style choices!
Fall Capsule Wardrobe Essentials
I want to preface this section with a reminder that I am writing this from Texas, so my Fall essentials will be very different from someone in Minnesota. But, there are still some great style guidelines and tips that I’ll share that should be applicable to anyone.
Fall Wardrobe Tips
When it comes to choosing pieces for a Fall Capsule, I like to think about layers but not too many, because our weather here can change drastically. You’ll see in the next section that I include a jacket but not a sweater.
This is a personal preference because I tend to run hot but also because of our climate. If you live somewhere colder, keep that in mind when shopping your closet.
Another thing to remember when building a capsule wardrobe is to consider pieces that make you feel confident but are also comfortable for everyday wear.
For example, a tight-fitting dress or pair of jeans might give you a confidence boost when you wear them on one night out but is it really comfortable enough for you to wear them multiple times in one week?

Embrace Being an Outfit Repeater
This may be a new concept for you if you are coming from an old mindset of “never repeating an outfit.” I get it, I used to be there too.
The difference for me was, I grew up with very few material possessions, so, never repeating an outfit actually meant, getting creative with the clothes you already have.
This is why I love putting together these wardrobe capsules so much and hope I can inspire you to try one of your own.
Capsule wardrobes are about utilizing the clothing you already own and seeing them from a fresh perspective. That’s why it’s the natural first step into adopting a more sustainable approach to your style.
Thinking about your clothing this way will help you bring new life to your wardrobe. Plus, your style will start to reflect your new point of view.
You will find that you can still be “trendy” and put together a great look without having to spend a dime on any more cheap fast-fashion trash. Instead, you will be mindful and sustainably fashion forward.
You may even become a trend-setter yourself ๐
The 7 Pieces for my Fall Capsule
I’ve found that my fall palette over the years tends to stay in the neutral range with a pop of color and pattern. I love shades of pink and the richness that burgundy and green can add to a look as well.

The 7 pieces I curated from my closet for my Fall Petite Plus Capsule Wardrobe are:
- Brown Vegan Leather Jacket
- Reversible Button Down Cheetah Print Blouse
- Pink V-neck Peplum Top
- Burgundy High Waisted Legging
- Light Wash, Distressed Jeans
- Little White Dress (designed and made by me!)
- White Ankle Boots
My accessories for this week’s capsule were a green exploded plaid scarf and a brown leather cross-body satchel.
Final Fall Capsule: 7 Pieces, 7 Outfits, 7 Days
Below are the 7 looks I created using the pieces from my closet. Many of these items I have owned for years and about half were thrift store finds.
Just goes to show that nothing really ever goes out of style! Clothing should be cherished and cared for, for as long as possible. There is still so much life in each of these pieces, so you can bet you’ll be seeing them pop up again and again ๐
