MoraRae was born from a deep need—a need to express, to heal, and to provide. After I lost my 19-year-old sister, Shamora, on June 30, 2019, everything changed. I knew I wanted to honor Shamora’s memory while also helping others. That’s where MoraRae comes in.
MoraRae is a vintage-inspired, sustainable petite plus-size womenswear line designed in Texas with a mission to give back. Each purchase supports the Shamora Was Here Foundation, a nonprofit my family and I created to honor Shamora. This foundation is dedicated to spreading epilepsy awareness, finding a cure, and supporting disabled individuals with big dreams.
MoraRae embodies one sister’s love for another while addressing a significant gap in the sustainable fashion world. I believe women should feel beautiful in their skin, and their clothing should enhance—not hide—who they are. It’s time for fashion to adapt to women, not the other way around. That’s why I created this petite plus-size line, to design for the often-overlooked size.
For too long, sustainable and ethical clothing has been exclusive, expensive, and unappealing. But the world is changing, and fast fashion can no longer be the norm. Our planet cannot be neglected any longer. At MoraRae, sustainability comes first. Everything you see here is designed and handmade by me and my lovely local seamstress in Dallas Texas. I use natural fabrics in my designs and operate a made-to-order business model to limit waste while providing the best quality and styles for petite plus-size women.
